To See And Do
Erakor Lagoon is at your doorstep with Erakor Island just a kayak or free ferry away. Brochures for many tours and attractions are available from Reception. Here are a few suggestions:
- Hideaway Island: terrific snorkelling, a good snack bar and a nice place to sit and read or unwind.
- Mele Cascades: great waterfall, refreshing plunge pools and a gentle jungle walk.
- Eton Beach: a cool, clear freshwater stream meanders slowly into warm salt water. It’s a nice, sandy beach with toilets, a sheltered hut, good snorkelling and a breakwater for surf fishing.
- Coongoola Cruise: a lovely day on a classic sailing ketch from Havannah Harbour.
- Meridian Sunset Cruise: unwind before dinner with drinks and nibbles on this sunset cruise from Port Vila harbour.
- Ekasup Village: You must take an organised tour (‘must’ both as in ‘must do’ and ‘have to’) to experience Ekasup – a traditional ni-Vanuatu village experience.
- Lelepa Island: a full day tour with a bush walk to caves, snorkelling, fishing, playing with dolphins, BBQ lunch, soft drinks, snorkelling gear etc.
- Game or Sport Fishing: Departs from Waterfront Bar & Grill or Nautilus in town. The fishing in Vanuatu is excellent. More on fishing...
- Scuba Diving: Diving is also excellent and accessible. There are introductory dives available with Nautilus. More info on diving...
- Golf: PLA guests may use the golf course at Le Lagon (charge applies) and the Port Vila Golf and Country Club at Mele is an excellent 18-hole course. Guests are welcome and the holes are challenging. Friendly ni-Vanuatu caddies are available. More info on golf...
- Horse Riding: At Club Hippique or the Seahorse Ranch for beginners to experienced riders.
- Museum & Cultural Centre: There’s a lot on Vanuatu’s interesting history from cannibalism to the Condominium.
- Jet Ski from Iririki, or parasail from Nautilus.
